WHO WE ARE
LEAF was established in 2016 as a non-profit organization, and since then, the number of parents and students attending its workshops and conferences have tripled in number. As a result, more students are attending specialized schools, getting scholarships, accepted into prestigious programs (Jack Kent Cooke, Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, Duke TIP), graduating from High School and accepted into Ivy League and top universities.
To be the most effective organization in educating and empowering Latino parents to advocate for quality education for their children.
- Provide Latino families information, knowledge, and skills to navigate schools and communities
- Ensure Latino children have access to academic programs and opportunities to achieve academic success
- Provide parents the information and tools to create an academic atmosphere for the entire family to effectively impact their children’s academic and career path
- Attract and use private philanthropic resources to facilitate, support, advance, and benefit the Latino community
LEAF accomplishes our mission by implementing our complete Family Academic Engagement (℠) approach to develop lifelong academic success for Latino families guided by our core values.
