Javier von Westphalen is founder and CEO of Emergent Element, a cultural marketing strategy consultancy that provides behavioral change strategies, innovation, and integration to all communications discipline to transformational brands. With a cultural lens approach, he helps organizations to more effectively and efficiently engage the people they serve so they can make an impact in the world while generating growth.
He is an award-winning bilingual and bicultural marketing strategist that combines, market research, consumer insights, and design thinking to guide clients to higher levels of success.
Over the years, he has advised numerous organizations including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, US Food and Drug Administration, American Red Cross, United States Department of Agriculture, John Hopkins University, Little Cesar’s Pizza, Miller Brewing Company, TECATE, Phillip Morris USA, and dozens of startups and midsize businesses.
Javier has spoken at major conferences including the National Conference of Health Communications, Marketing, and Media, Society of Behavioral Medicine, Latino in Technology and Social Media (LATISM), and Social Media Week. He was co-director of Latinos in Social Media and Technology-DC chapter (LATISM) and served on Children’s Health Board and advisory committee for Salud America.
He holds a MA in Leadership and Organizational Studies, a BA in Marketing and Finance and postgraduate education from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Harvard University’s Business School, and the Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
