At Latino Education Advancement Fund (LEAF) we know that engaging parents is crucial to the success of our students, particularly for low-income parents and children in public schools. Parents with little or no university background are often uncomfortable with academic concepts and, as a result; don’t often work with their children. The summit is designed for parents and students who are interested in enhancing their knowledge, changing perspectives and exploring new pre-college opportunities to expand their children’s learning and enhancing their academic achievement. Through the summit parents will get engaged, inspired and empowered to take initiative, be proactive, get involved and collaborate in their child’s educational life.
Through the presentations, parents will get information and develop skills to partner with schools, programs and services offered through their community to ensure their children achieve their full academic potential. The conference will cover a wide range of topics related to middle and high school such as ACT/DAT tests, scholarships available, and summer programs, to mention some. The conference aims in bringing together approximately 500 parents and students in all for what promises to be a very moving and memorable conference. Given your expertise, we know your presentation will be the highlight of this conference.
